Signal is better for normie calls, like your family
XMPP/Matrix are better for self-hosting (like groups/teams)

Bastyon is better at paying to advertise a business
Nostr is better at growing organically through reposts
Farcaster is better at meeting VCs (and coders), like LinkedIn
Files
Arweave is better at censorship of an individual’s websites/podcasts in first world countries
IPFS is better for network-level firewall censorship of websites, in second or third world countries.
Blossom/Haven is better at hosting images for Nostr
Tor is better for outright illegal marketplaces
Conclusion:
No one man can do it all. So if you’d get it out of your head that these are all competing, then we can replace the whole Big Tech stack, and create a parallel society among ourselves.
