where do you buy crypto?

How to Buy Crypto Fast & Privately

Our company only accepts cryptocurrency. So the question for new users is, where do you buy crypto? Well it depends on what country you live in and how you want to pay.

Credit cards

Credit card purchases are the most convenient but usually make you pay the vendor fee of 2% or more.

Cake Wallet

Cake Wallet with Cakewallet.com and CakePay is a quick way to buy XMR. It does require ID, here is their post on it: https://cakelabs.com/news/cake-wallet-adds-invoicing/

Exodus Wallet

If you’re looking to use a credit card quickly then Exodus wallet allows you buy Bitcoin or Monero fast within the app itself.

ChangeNow

Another choice for credit card is ChangeNow.io which accepts Visa and Mastercard. They may ask for documents.

MyMonero wallet

MyMonero.com is an option with credit cards in the wallet, but there are issues with US residents using a US credit card.

StealthEx

StealthEx.io also offers Visa, Mastercard, and EU SEPA. Just keep in mind this website uses a lot of Big Tech. They might ask for documents.

CoinMama.com

Has USA & EU support. Likely asks for documents.

Cex.io

USA-friendly
But they charge VERY high fees, 4% just to deposit for Visa/Mastercard or Paypal. Then 8% commission to get the Bitcoin. This should only be used as a last resort if other websites won’t work and you need it fast. It’s a US-friendly company.

CoinCorner.com

Good for Europeans, but No USA

Peer-to-Peer

If you want to get crypto anonymously then you need a peer-to-peer exchange. Here the exchange keeps the crypto in escrow, and then the seller releases it once you pay fiat. If there’s a dispute, the mediator arbitrates. This shows up to the bank as you’re paying a random person, instead of a crypto firm. These are some payment methods for peer-to-peer:

USD – Zelle, Venmo, Cash in mail
EU – SEPA, Revolut, Paypal, Cash in mail

Haveno

Haveno is a peer-to-peer Tor market with Zelle, Paypal, or physical cash in the mail for Monero with a multi-sig arbitrator. Haveno has unclear legal status, but it’s on Github.

Relai.app (EU)

This is Bitcoin-only, but Relai.app is the best for the European Union as there’s more liquidity for euro options: https://relai.app/

Vexl.it

Vexl.it is yet another peer-to-peer exchange, but keep in mind the website uses Cloudflare, Google, and Amazon’s AWS.
Vexl lets you see who you and the seller have in common so you know if you can trust them. This is generally a bigger deal for the seller as they fear charge-back risk.

Peach

Another global option is PeachBitcoin.com . Peach is Bitcoin only and matches you peer to peer.

RoboStats.com

Also RoboSats.com matches you peer-to-peer and allows for the Bitcoin lightning network:

Bisq

Bisq is another private possibility for peer to peer purchases of Bitcoin. Haveno is based on Bisq.

Azte.co

Azte.co lets you buy gift cards vouchers from physical and online stores, then swap those into Bitcoin. You can check their website and see if any of the vendors/locations are convenient for you.

Hodl Hodl

HodlHodl.com is generally overpriced, and we don’t recommend it. But it’s an another option.

Local Coin Swap

Local Coin Swap is very expensive, but they do have credit cards

Select Visa/Debit or Zelle

KYC Exchanges & ACH deposits

If you’re looking for the cheapest fees and don’t mind waiting a week, then centralized exchanges that KYC is your best option. This is recommended for larger size. Monero is anonymous. So even if you KYC to get it, then once you send it to someone, it becomes anonymous. So depending on what country you live in, you can buy it with KYC. For US residents, Kraken using Monero is good. The commissions are low, but you’ll have to wait 7 days to withdraw the money. Other exchanges can be used and you can swap from any crypto into Monero if you want.
