Tickets are Now Nearly Instant | HydraVeil 2.8.0

Ticket Speed

Intro

For a quick history, first we introduced tickets which offered a convenient way to pay once, but have different identities. Where each wireguard key “profile” was cryptographically isolated from the rest.

Respawn

Then we introduced “respawn” for tickets when the profile was deleted, you could also wipe it’s associated identity, and come back as a fresh person, without having to pay again. However, this meant you computer did the math behind the cryptography again.

Now, Faster Math

With today’s upgrade, we are compiling that same math in C using Cython, instead of pure Python. This gives a dramatic speed boost to getting a new identity, while still offering open source transparency into how the C is compiled.

Next Upgrade

There are big exciting new features coming out, including two new protocols for traffic obfuscation and speed. Today’s release serves as a critical foundational update designed to ensure stability and seamless interoperability when these server-side upgrades happen. While this version focuses on technical infrastructure, it is a required stepping stone for the major features coming down the pipeline, that will improve your life.

Why You Should Upgrade Now

While the changes in this version are primarily under-the-hood, updating today is essential for your future daily activity. The upcoming major release will introduce a significant architectural shift and a suite of highly requested features, such as firewall evasion. To ensure you can migrate to that version without downtime or complex manual data conversion, your system must be running at least version 2.8.0 when the servers switch over. By upgrading now, you are preparing your environment for a “one-click” transition to two new protocols coming out.
